Edmeades

Beloved for its limited bottlings of iconoclastic, single vineyard Zinfandels handcrafted from the cool, coastal vineyards of Mendocino County, Edmeades adheres to traditional techniques and natural winemaking resulting in varieties that exemplify the authentic taste of one of California’s viticultural frontiers – Mendocino County’s famed Anderson Valley. Edmeades’ award-winning wines are created utilizing methods that are decidedly low tech: native yeast fermentations in small open-top bins, hand punch-downs, minimal manipulation and no fining or filtration at bottling. The simplicity of these natural methods allows the soils and climates of each site to be clearly heard in the award-winning wines of Edmeades.

Dave Ready JR.

Dave Ready Jr. grew up appreciating and learning about wine through his father. As a teenager, he developed his love of music and played in local Minneapolis bands, where he aspired to be a musician. This dream drew him out to California, but his love of wine and winemaking is why he stayed. Dave first worked harvests at Edmeades, and it is there he realized that he had the palate of a winemaker. Working in the cellar during this time also taught him the impact that winemaking techniques have on wine. Looking to broaden his horizons, he worked harvest in Australia, where he was exposed to new and innovative winemaking methods.
