Tamellini

The Tamellini family has been cultivating vineyards for four generations, but it is only in 1998 that the two brothers, Gaetano and Pio Francesco, decided to establish their own winery. They wanted to create something different; a more noble, unique Soave on the market. Since then, Gaetano takes care of the growth and production of the vineyards and Pio transforms the grapes into the prestigious wine of Tamellini. The integrity of a wine produced on their estate in Soave is the particularity of this company. The grape, Garganega, Soave’s vine; and the non-use of barriques or large barrels have characterized the particularity of their wine right from the start. The 34 hectares of vineyards are planted to 100% Garganega and lie in one of the most classic zones of production, San Vittore, at the foot of the hills. Disease and pest control are carried out only when necessary, using environmentally friendly products such as Bordeaux poultice and dry sulphur products. No type of herbicide is used, only the grass is mown. No mineral or organic fertilisers are used either.
